It’s time to shine: by day or night

Metallic is taking centre stage for the warmer weather ahead. Edgy and modern, or delicate and dreamy, metallic flows seamlessly by day or night. No wonder designers have turned this luxurious texture into versatile and wearable pieces which are guaranteed to dazzle.

This season designers from Dolce & Gabbana to Sonya Rykiel have amped up the runway with shiny textures and iridescent fabrics. The beauty of this trend is that it can be worn by day or by night. How to wear metallics

To dazzle by day I suggest wearing a metallic piece with minimalist separates in crisp, clean, lines. For a high/low day smart casual look, try pairing a pencil metallic skirt with plain white jumper and court shoes. If you feel a little more adventurous try layering different metallic pieces together. F&F at Tesco has a beautiful sport luxe look which is styled with a bronze iridescent Tshirt layer, loose jacket, and shorts. With a simple change of accessories, this trend can be brought to evening glam.

The key is to choose more vibrant or rich hues. A head-to-toe look will make a statement at an evening do. The easier way is to go for a shimmery dress and style it with simple jewellery.

This trend is a statement on its own, so forget statement bags and big jewellery and pair with elegant anklestrap heels or neat flats.

Metallic accessories are also a stylish way to work the trend. Look for bags, belts, or shoes in shimmery accents and include them in your looks. Try this purple dress and khaki coat by Pennyblack at Design House Barna, with metallic sneakers and matching bag, an easy and stylish way to nail the trend.
